TAS5404-Q1 / Inductor for RL=2ohm

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5404-Q1

Hi,

My customer is considering to use TAS5404-Q1 for 2-ohm load.

Do you have the recommended inductor for 2-ohm load?

(I'm confirming output power and cut-off frequency to my customer.)

I referred following document, though there is no mention for 2-ohm.

  • Kuramochi-san,
The inductor for 2 ohms depends on the output power you wish to meet. This is directly related to the series resistance (DCR) of the inductor. The DCR is also related to the temperature rise of the inductor. The temperature rise is determined by the average power delivered to the load, since temperature rise has a long time constant.
The DFEG7030D inductor on the EVM is ok for 2 ohms in a normal music playing situation. If continuous power is to be needed, then an inductor with lower DCR is needed and the suggestion is the HEAW from Murata/Toko. There are other options available, as these are just suggestions.
  • Hi Greg-san,

    Thank you for your answer.

I introduce the DFEG7030D to my customer firstly.

And following is condition that they request.

    - Output power: 40W/ch@THD10%

    - Cut-off frequency: over 25kHz

    Best Regards,

    Kuramochi
