Hi team,

I knwo already about TAS5414C version versus B version. TI recommends C version, however I should be B for PBTL.

C has register for PBTL. How about B? do I need any register setting for B? or do I need only hardware trace connection for ? does we have reference SD for PBTL mode of TAS5414B version?

Hi Max,
It is highly recommended to use the TAS5414C-Q1 for all new designs. In PBTL mode, the "C" version has a better method for PBTL operation than the "B" version. The "C" version will behave better in thermal foldback protection, so it is recommended.

I know C version is better, but now customer should be 36p DKD package.

He has no choice of the change of layout.

Hi Gregg,

That is why the customer needs 36p DKD package for his end buyer car sub woofer model.
Can I get the ref SD for PBTL mode TAS5414B? and I need to know to use B version PBTL register setting (TAS5414C needs 0x0d control mode).

In the TAS5414B-Q1 datasheet on page 32 in the PBTL section it states: "When paralleling channels it is important to monitor channels for thermal foldback and lower the system gain for paralleled channels." This is important as the thermal foldback will not be triggered at the same time on the two paralleled channels. The thermal foldback changes the gain of the two channels in parallel separately. If this occurs the two channels are no longer matched. This can cause the channel with higher gain to have a high current event and possibly a over current shutdown. The TAS5414C-Q1 does not have this concern.

Thank you for supporting, I know this, however, customer agree about this, he accept B version specification and PCB lay out is more important for now due to previous model. that is why.
