Reset at standby mode on TAS2521

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2521

Hello,

Regarding to reset at standby mode on TAS2521, I have some question.

(1) If a reset is needed, will each reset(hardware(RST) and software reset) be able to use for it?

(2) After software reset, will all registers be made a default value the same as hardware reset?

If there is some register that the value is not changed, what registers does it apply?

(For example, volume, gain, and power up/down etc. ?)

Regards,

  • Hi Tao,

Yes, the device is able to reset through both hardware and software reset when in standby mode.
After software reset all the registers are set back to their default values, you need to write back again the registers for the application you're using.

  • Hello Ivan,

    Thank you for reply.

I have informed your answer to my customer.

Regarding to the wait time at standby mode on TAS2521, I have a question.

After reset(H/W or S/W), is the wait time needed until next command register?

(Return from standby mode: Reset -> (Need wait?) -> command register)

Is wait (min 1msec) needed the same as power on sequence?

    Regards,

  • Hi Tao,

Yes, the wait time before register writes is required after reset no matter if it is power on sequence or just a reset. The wait time is 1msec.
