TPA6132 ESD question

Dear Sir 

May I know general headphone amp design will place ESD at connector or not ??

So far we use TPA6132A2 and output will have burn-out issue 

I can't make sure this issue is caused by ESD or mini speaker load 

Please kindly help to advise

    Usually it is recommended to place TVS ESD diodes for protection at the output or at least an RC filter to prevent ESD damage. Does the output of the amplifier connected directly to the output connector?
    What kind of load is the TPA6132A2 driving? Have you tried different loads?

    1. Yes!! connect outside directly without ESD ,do you have RC filter or ESD reference design that I can show it with our customer 

    2. Our customer feedback the output connect a active speaker rather than passive speaker ,so it will not have 4ohm or 8ohm impedance issue ,do you think this is correct ??

    Unfortunately there is no reference design available, RC filter can be a series resistor around 100-Ohm or 10-Ohm and capacitor to ground around 22000pF or 1000pF. Regarding TVS diode you could take a look at the ESD protection diodes products: www.ti.com/.../esd-emi-protection-products.page
    Is there any specific behavior before the output is burned? Do you have any idea of what impedance does the amplifier see at its output? Is it too low? However if the load is too low I would expect the device to protect itself.
    Is the device getting hot when the output is burned?
