Dear Sir,

Customer would likes using PCM9211 "Group A" for I2S input.

I cannot get detail describe in d/s, would you pls advise how can we do?

Hi Ian-san,

Unfortunately, MPIO Group A(MPIO_A0 to MPIO_A3) isn't able to be used for the I2S input as described on page 43 of the PCM9211 data sheet.
So, I would recommend to use MPIO Group B or C instead of MPIO Group A.

How about the MCHR setting?

If we set register MCHR to 1 for the multi-channel function.

We saw /s p.19 describe as below,

Does MPIO Group A and C can be used to I2S input?

Hi Ian-san,

Sorry for overlooking that sentence which you mentioned above.
As you said, MPIO_A and MPIO_C are assigned as the multi-channel PCM input ports and the clock transition outputs if setting MCHR register(20h) to 1.
Could you please refer to page 48 of the data sheet ?

I and customer discussed about p.48 and we think MPIOA(Group A) can input I2S signal. Isn't it?

Hi Ian-san,

Yes, your understanding is correct.
I think MPIO_A is used as the PCM input port.

One more question, how can we choice input is Group_A or Group_C when setting register MCGR=1?

Hi Ian-san,

It's up to you which channel you use.
It is necessary to input the audio data which is synchronized to MBCKI and MLRCKI for MDIN0 ~ MDIN3 pins.
Please refer to "Table 28" on page 49 of the data sheet regarding the routing to the output port.
