Hi-Res Audio Codec

Hi Expert,

My customer ask TI codec for Hi-Res? Would you guide me AIC3xxx serials which can support it? Thanks!

  • Hi, Jerry,

Based on the link that you provided, almost all of our AIC3xxx audio codecs support Hi-Res.

    - The TLV320AIC310x devices support sample rates from 8KHz to 96KHz and 16/20/24/32 Bits Data.
    - The TLV320AIC311x devices support sample rates from 8KHz to 192KHz (separated DAC and ADC sample rates) and 16/20/24/32 Bits Data.
    - The TLV320AIC32xx devices support sample rates from 8KHz to 192KHz and 16/20/24/32 Bits Data.

Devices from the TLV320AIC32xx family support the best processing blocks (or miniDSP) of all our codec devices.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Luis,

But some information shows the the Hi-Res Audio logo must produce a bandwidth of 40kHz. I have checked AIC3xxx codec, the frequency response shows to 20KHz.

  • Hi, Jerry,

Unfortunately, our audio codecs cannot reach a bandwidth of 40KHz. They have an internal filter that limits the output in an audible range (from 20Hz to 20KHz). The Hi-Res sampling rates and the data bits are supported, but this bandwidth cannot be reached by all our audio converters.
