looking for stereo audio D2A with SPDIF input and analog outputs. Volume control in the output is nice to have feature

    Hi, eli,

    Please take a look at the possible devices below:

    PCM2906: This is an audio codec that supports SPDIF input and output. Basically, the SPDIF is converted to USB and vice versa. It also supports analog input and output.
    PCM2706: This is an audio DAC that supports all your requirements except the SPDIF input. This device only supports SPDIF output.

    Hi Eli,

    you can use combination of S/PDIF receiver DIR9001 and some DAC like PCM5102A. VOLUME control is not possible on the digital side. You can control volume with potentiometer on the analog side.
