TLV320DAC3101 Headphone out put can we can we bypass to class-ab amplifier to use external class D-amplifier for connecting 10W Speaker

Hi,

We are using TLV320DAC3101 Audio DAC ic . Our requirement should be cater for below requirements.

1. Headset(Class-AB)

2. Class-d amplifier output for 8E/0.5W speaker

3. External 10W speaker.

In TLV320DAC3101 IC we have option for Headphone output or Line out put on same pin out. I understand that selection can be from software. When i select line output is this class-AB amplifier will be bypassed?It is not shown more clearly in datasheet architecture is this correct?

    Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

    The TLV320DAC3101 outputs can be enabled or disabled independently. Basically, if you don't need to use a specific output, there's no need to connect the DAC output to that output. Additionally, the driver can be disabled even if the DAC output is routed. If you require a lineout-drive mode, you would need to write 11 to page 1 / register 44.
