Hi Everyone,

I am using TLV320AIC3106 with AM3354, connection established and communication also fine but when i am playing sounds my TLV320AIC3106 ic getting more heat and when stopped IC in normal state, please guide me to over come this issue.

On request will provide schematic of that particular part.

Here is the schematic and is the wrong register setting also creating the heating issue ? because my sound, video everything fine but issue with the heat only.

Hi Luis,

here I am attaching schematic please find the same in attachment, and I connected the HPLCOM and HPRCOM to ground and my audio jack configuration is MGRL.

Hi, Jack,

Thank you for provide your schematic. I think that this could be related with the HPRCOM/HPLCOM connection. You need to ensure that both outputs are not configured as differential outputs of HPROUT/HPLOUT. Additionally, you may verify if there could be an over-current event with some flag registers. Page 0 / Register 95 can be used to detect short-circuit. Could you try with it?

Additionally, have you tried leaving floated the HPLCOM/HPRCOM pins? Does the problem persist?

yes, after disconnecting the HPLCOM/HPRCOM from Ground problem solved.

and one more query i have, is this only way to solve this heat issue or is it possible with Software also (means register setting or anything )? if i want to use HPLCOM/HPRCOM lines then what is the recommended circuit and register setting ? please share the information related to this also.

Hi, Jack,

You may also try configuring the HPLCOM and HPRCOM outputs as independent single-ended outputs (Page 0 / Register 37-38) and power down these outputs (Page 0 / Register 58 & 72).

You may use these lines as individual outputs or as a differential output of HPLOUT/HPROUT (this is the default configuration). So, you only would need to connect an AC-coupling capacitor at the output.
