TLV320AIC3100: Reg TLV320AIC3100IRHBR Power sequence

Part Number: TLV320AIC3100

Hi,

We are using TLV320AIC3100IRHBR in our design. It is mentioned in datasheet that the device will be functional with out power sequencing.

But suggested to have power sequencing. As per our design, it is not feasible to have power sequencing as the power coming to our board is not controllable at our end.

So we are planning to proceed with out power sequencing, please suggest will it have much impact in IC functionality?

Regards,

Lakshmi

  • Hi, Lakshmi,

Basically, we recommend to separate the analog from digital activities in our codec designs. When the power sequences cannot be achieved due to the circuit design, we suggest to ensure at least that the digital and analog activities would be separated in the design. According to the Layout section of datasheet, the digital and analog ground planes should be separated. Additionally, the analog pins activity should be separated from digital pins activity in order to avoid noise. You also may take a look at the following wiki article in order to get the best performance in your design even if you cannot follow the suggested power sequences:
