TAS1020B max sampling rate

Hi all,

does TAS1020B support sampling rates bigger than 24bits/48kHz?  It looks like there is some problem with the Windows, that it can't support it very well - any ideas whether current win drivers fro TAS1020B can really support 48kHz/24bits?

best regards

Oskar

  • Hello Oskar:

TAS1020 can go up to 96 kHz and is limited at 96 kHz due to memory limitation.

TAS1020 has about 1.1kByte of RAM.

    2 channels * 3 bytes (24 bits) * 96 samples per mS * 2 (double buffering for synchronous isochronous transfer) = 1152 Bytes

One of our colleagues did a timing analysis of the USB bus and saw that it only actually needs 935 bytes at anytime in the buffer.

I have a document but cannot attach.  I will ask someone to help me loading this timing analysis here.

    Best regards,

    Tuan
