In TLV320AIC3101, are the outputs (DAC) AC or DC coupled?

Hi, Jon,

The TLV320AIC3101 analog outputs are DC coupled. You would require external AC blocking capacitors in case you don't require the DC component.

The ADC and the DAC of TLV320AIC3101 have 24bit resolution each, correct?

Hi, Jon,

That's correct. Actually, the ADC and DAC can be configured as 16, 20, 24 or 32 bits resolution each.

Hi Luis,
You can read on the datasheet that the data width of the digital audio interface is programmable as 16, 20, 24 or 32 bits, which i think it is not the same thing as the resolution of ADC/DAC. correct?
On the website of TI, when you look at the TLV320AIC3101 product folder, you find on the description table that the resolution is 24 bits (fixed).
It looks like the digital interface is programmable, but the resolution is actually 24 bits.
Can you please clarify this and send me the specifications?

I looked for more information about this.

Internally, the AIC3101 uses a 24 bit resolution. The digital audio interface is register programmable. With the 24 bit setting you will get all of the bits. If you program the interface to a lower number (the default is 16 bits), the LSB's will be dropped, if programmed to 32 bits, 0's will be added.
