Starterware/TAS5756M: Problems with TAS5756m for 2.1 stereo+mono amplifier systems

Part Number: TAS5756M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5754M

Tool/software: Starterware

Dear ,

Problems with TAS5756m for 2.1 stereo+mono amplifier systems
The problem we meet right now is that when connecting the PA board with our Android board, no audio from the speaker.
Questions:
1. we configure the two chips with the same register configuration, is that right?
2. Can you provide register table for TAS5756m?
3. We find that SPK_MUTE low (~0.4V) after we configure the chips through I2C, can we force SPK_MUTE to be high through register settings?
4. We use 3-wire I2S, when we scope the signals, we find that SDOUT with no wave, is this right?
  • Hi Alan,

The amplifiers can be configured with he same settings if that is appropriate for you, the mono/stereo configuration is made via hardware. The registers for the TAS5756 are the same as the TAS5754, so you can refer to the datasheet of the TAS5754M. /SPK_MUTE is an input controlled by hardware only; the amplifier outputs will be muted if a logic low is provided to this pin. This behavior might be normal if the SDOUT is configured as the digital output from one amplifier via software.
