LM48511: need PDM input

Part Number: LM48511
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3110, TLV320DAC3203

Hi,

I'm beginner for audio amp, and the other team of my company used TI's LM48511 (Class D Audio Amp).

So I'm reviewing LM48511 for my application.

below is my question.

1. As for the LM48511 datasheet, this device can receive only analog input. is it right? or can receive PDM input?

2. If only analog input, is there any other TI device can receive PDM input and silmilar spec to LM48511?

thanks,

TS

  • Hi TS,

As you said, LM48511 only works with analog input.
PDM is a signal used mostly with digital microphones. Most of our codecs work with PDM inputs. TLV320AIC3110 is a codec with stereo Class-D output, although the output power is lower than LM48511.
Another option is to keep using LM48511 and use a DAC to interface PDM to analog signal. You could use TLV320DAC3203 with PDM input and connect its analog output to the LM48511 input.
I hope this helps. Please let me know your thoughts.
