TLV320AIC3262: TLV320AIC3262 Mic Connection

Hi Guys,

I am using TLV320AIC3262 in one of our project to integrate a mic to the codec, in the reference design it is shown a mic with left and right analog input (image1).

The mic i am using have only one analog output, how can i connect the analog output of mic to the codec? do i have to connect one analog output to both left and right input? (image2) or only have to connect to one of the input? (image3).

Hi, Muhsin,

It would depend of your application. If you require a mono application (only left channel used), the last connection (image 3) would be correct. In case you require to use left and right channel with one microphone connected, you would require a similar connection than the image 2, but only one MICBIAS resistor used. You would require to remove R7 or R8 in the image 2.

Hi Luis,

Thank you for your reply, i will proceed with the second approach then, if it need mono i will remove the cap to one of the channel. Is there any software or performance impact on this?

Hi, Muhsin,

There shouldn't be any impact if the cap is removed. The analog inputs are selected via registers configuration. So, the unused analog inputs don't have an impact since they are not selected.
