PCM5100A: Using 3-pole stereo jack

Part Number: PCM5100A

Hi,

A customer will use 3-pole stereo jack as PCM5100A line-out interface. He worries about over-current when 2-pole mono plug is inserted. He will connect recommended 470Ω resistor between PCM5100A output and 3-pole jack. Does PCM5100A suffer damage, if 2-pole mono plug is inserted? Is there any way to prevent from the damage?

Best regards,

Akio Ito

  • Hi, Ito-san,

There is no report of similar applications where the PCM5100A gets damaged when used under the described conditions. I will check with the team and will get back to you as soon as possible with any additional information.
