TLV320AIC3120: Validation the connection between CODEC and DSP

Part Number: TLV320AIC3120

Dear All,

We are using the codec par number - TLV320AIC3120 interfacing with DSP. Just wanted to make sure is our design is ok at the DSP side. i have connected to one the SPORT channel of the DSP.

Attaching the Design snapshot of Codec and DSP side below : -

Thanking you in advance.

Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi, Rohit,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

I couldn't see your attached snapshots. Could you attach them again, please?

Additionally, in order to interface any codec with an external DSP, you only would require to verify that all the I2S lines are correctly connected to the I2S pins of the DSP. If the codec control is also made by the DSP, you must ensure that the I2C lines are correctly connected and pulled-up at IOVDD.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
  • Hi Luis,

Thank you for your quick response .

I am attaching the missing file

    Thanks and Regards,

    Rohit

  • Hi, Rohit,

The I2S and I2C connections seem to be in order. However, I have several observations in the codec schematic. Please ensure the following things:

    - Ensure that all power pins are in the recommended operating conditions. IOVDD and DVDD don't seem to be connected to any power supply.
    - Are you using any analog input/output? They don't seem to be connected to any external source or component.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
  • Hi Luis,

We have not at design or chosen the power supply section and analog input/output section . Mic and speaker we have to decide. we were worried about I2C and I2S connection between processor and codec.Which look fine as per you.

    Thank you for your support.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Rohit Pandey
