Asking for the digital amp with I2S 1.8V support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5727, TXB0104, TAS5722L

Hi Team,
Would you please recommend class-D amplifier 10W ~ 20W with 1.8V DVDD digital interface? It looks like all the digi-amp cannot support 1.8V I2S. Customer would like to apply it for 1.8V I2S interface from DSP application. If not, do you think we can propose TAS5727+TXB0104(I2S level shift) for this case?

Thanks,
SHH

  • Hi SHH-san,

I would recommend to use TAS5722L with 1.8V digital I/O but is mono Class-D amplifier without DAP.
So, please see the following link.

  • Hi Kato-san,
Thanks for your help. Could we set the right channel out or left channel output on TAS5722L?
customer would like to use two TAS5722L. one for left channel audio, another TAS5722L for right channel.
Can that be done by registers setting or HW setting?

    Thanks,
    SHH

  • Hi SHH-san,

Yes, multiple channels using more than one device is supported. Please refer to pages 21 to 25 of the datasheet. It outlines how to use the TAS5722L in stereo configuration with one device per channel. I pasted below for your convenience "The TAS5722L device SAIF supports a variety of standard stereo serial audio formats including I2S, Left Justified and Right Justified. It also supports a time division multiplexed (TDM) format that is capable of transporting up to 8 channels of audio data on a single bus."

    Regards,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,
Thanks for reply. how ever, customer is not concern the audio format. they are care about how to set right channel or left channel audio source.
Do you know where the registers can set the left or right channel or mixer function?

    Thanks,
    SHH
  • Hi SHH-san,

The I2S stereo operation is mentioned on page 18 of TAS5722L data sheet as below.
Unfortunately, TAS5722L doesn't support the mixing function, which should be embedded into the audio processor(host DSP).

    Best regards,
    Kato
