PCM5102A: PCM5102A can't output audio issue

Part Number: PCM5102A

I have encountered a issue that no audio output when I2S signal is work normal. Should I check which part?

The CPVDD/AVDD/DVDD all is 3.3V , the internal 1.8V LDO also has the output voltage.

Whether the VNEG or CAPP/CAPM voltage is abnormal ? what is the normal voltage ?

  • Hi,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

The PCM5102A features an internal Power On Reset feature that will hold the device in reset state until power supplies are stable and input clocks are valid. In general, there is no further configuration required for this part to enter in normal operation when both clocks and power supplies are valid. Could you please share the clock frequencies used in I²S port so we can verify the rates are valid for the device?. Also, if you are not using the soft mute function of the device, you need to make sure that XSMT pin is tied to AVDD, otherwise the output of the DAC will be muted.

  • Attached is the MCLK/BCK/LRCK/DATA waveform, XSMT is tied to 3.3V.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the information. The clocks seems correct for the device normal operation, so the issue might be somewhere else. Could you please share the schematics of your board to verify that everything related to the PCM5102A is in order?. You can send me the files to diego.melendez@ti.com. Another thing to check is the output signal, do you have any captures from the outputs of the DAC that you can share so we could get an idea of the root cause?.
