TAS5731M: TAS5731M about pop sound issue

Part Number: TAS5731M

Hi Team,

The customer is using TAS5731M. The attach is the customer's schematic.

The register configuration is as follows:0x05 = 0x84, 0x1B = 0xC0

When the TAS5731M device is power on, the pop sound occurs. After power on reset, the customer initializes the register.

When the customer sets register 0x1B = 0xC0, the pop sound occurs again.

Can you provide the solution?

  • Hi Mickey,

Register 0x1B only has only one write enabled bit (please see section 9.6.14 in the datasheet for more info). Do you know why the customer is writing C0? D7 is reserved and D6 is read only in that register.

Is the customer following the steps on pages 62 to 64 of the datasheet for initializing the device and recommended startup? Also are they using the Start/Stop Period Register (0x1A) to minimize pop during soft-stop and soft-start?

    Regards,

    Alex
