TAS5720MEVM: Question of the TAS5720M I2C Address - 0x6C in Datasheet, 0x50 on the EVM

Part Number: TAS5720MEVM

Hi Sirs,

We are trying to duplicate the TAS5720M EVM's I2C communication (attached spreadsheet) for customer service because we dont have an GUI for tuning. However, we found the TAS1020B write 0x50 slave address to the TAS5720M and the EVM is functional.

The 0x50 address looks U3 (EEPROM)'s slave address. Is it means that we can enable the TAS5720 without write anything?

I2C Communication on the EVM:

EVM configuration(it is functional):

TAS5720M:

Thank you and Best regards,

  • Hi  Wayne,

    Your understanding is correct.  If you are using our TAS5720MEVM, you don't need to write to TAS5720M at all and TAS5720M can play audio with default settings. That's why you couldn't see any communication between TAS5720M and TAS1020B.
