PCM1860: THD+N at full scale

Part Number: PCM1860

Hello

I can find another POST following, but please allow me to have  question about PCM1860...

https://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64/t/490550

Q1

THD+N=-93dB at -1dBFS ( 0.87Vrms) , but how much THD+N in case 0dB (2.1Vrms)?

My custer had tested and it was -54dB ( is it make sence?)

We can find  input amplitude vs THD+N in Fig5 page14, but I can not see in detail at 0dBFS point.

Best Regards

  • Hi, Shibatani-san,

The measurement for the THD+N of the part should be referenced to the full scale signal in the digital domain, this is done to discard any possible mismatch or loss on the analog input signal. Based on this, I measured the THD+N in the EVM and obtained that when the input signal is regulated to get 0dBFs, THD+N is about -77dB. When the input is -1dB, the THD+N is -93dB. The part was configured with differential inputs (full scale=4.2V).
