TPA6047A4: Pop noise S3 wake up time

Part Number: TPA6047A4

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

As title, we found TPA6047A4 have pop noise on S3 wake up time.

The phenomenon only on speaker,  headphone is OK.

Also we tried three different speaker, still have this pop.

Our Codec is ALC888S.

Actually we have discussed with Realtek FAE, already update software (Like mute..) but still couldn't fix.

Could you share your experience for us?

Schematic as below

  • Hi Shu-Cheng

I don't understand you very well. The device gets pop noise, when do you set Speaker enable pin? if so, one possible solution could be to not send an input signal before of setting SPKR_EN pin.
On the other hand, you can reduce the input capacitors or use an input differential in order to decrease pop noise.

  • Hi ,Figueroa Jose Luis

    Update my question.

Use Realtek Driver R2.81, Already use SPKR_CTRL (SPK_EN)  to control.

It's mean SPKR_CTRL (SPK_EN) is close on S3 Wake up. Only  to play music the signal will be high.

    Pic

On this time, we can hear pop noise. We sure this noise is from TI AMP because there no pop noise on LOUT_L2/R2 at same time.

We tried connect HDA_5V to Standby Power, the noise is be quiet  than before on S3 wake up, but still had some (S3 wake up moment)

Hope this explanation could clear your confuse.

    Waiting your reply. Thanks!!

  • Hi Shu-Cheng

Sometimes an unbalanced input in singled-ended can cause pop noise, as I mentioned you could use a differential input to avoid this issue.
Also, you could reduce the input capacitors, this would help to reduce pop noise.
