TPA3255: Not working in PBTL

Part Number: TPA3255

Hello,

I am having an issue with the TPA3255. The amplifier does not output a signal. I implemented the PBTL configuration following the schematic given in the datasheet. My schematic looks like this:

Please note that there are two 100uF caps in series with AMP+ and AMP- drawn on the preamp page for DC decoupling. Double checked the schematic with the datasheet but can not see any mistake so far.

After setting RESET high, FAULT and CLIP_OTW are both going high, thus the device should enter normal operation mode. I supply a 1kHz sinus input signal but on amplifier output nothing happens. I can only see a saw tooth wave of a few mV. What could be wrong?

I can supply a screenshoot of the scope when I am back in my office.

Any help would be appreciated!

Greetings,

Raphael

  • Hi Raphael,

After a brief review of your schematic nothing looks incorrect. I would like to see a scope screenshot when you get the chance. It would also be helpful to see the output of the amplifier before the LC filter.

Are you using our EVM or have you created your own board? What load are you driving? Have you verified the signal at the AMP+ and AMP- points on the system?

    Best Regards,

    Dan
