PCM2707EVM-U: HID Software control and SPDIF/HP audio switch

Part Number: PCM2707EVM-U

Dear all,

I have purchased the PCM2707EVM kit recently.

My objective is to build a audio usb device for self service machines but I am new to usb audio.

Therefore I have two questions:

1)  HID control.

Is there any software tool I can use to check HID audio events?

and what is the best documentation source to make PC software

I think HID controls (including hp jack insertion/remove) generate events that can be read by windows software application?

2) SPDIF and HP output

is there any way to make the HP sound switch manually?

What I need is : Sound should be sent to SPDIF and not to HP. When a jack is inserted it can switch automatically or manually.

Sound should not go to both SPDIF and HP

thank you

  • Hi, Joao,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

1- The PCM2707 uses SPI control to configure the different HID interfaces, these should be configured with a SPI controller. The only HID events that the PCM2707 will report to the OS are Volume Up, Volume Down, Mute, Next track, Previous Track, Play/Pause and Stop.

2- HP and S/PDIF output operates at the same time, so there is no way to switch the output between them.
