PCM9211: VCOM terminal

Part Number: PCM9211

Hi,

A customer does not use ADC of PCM9211. He will connect VCCAD to AGND according to the instruction of datasheet. And he asks us whether VCOM also should tie to AGND.
I think VCOM should be floating because it is an output terminal. Is it correct?

Best regards,

Akio Ito

  • Hi, Ito-san,

As you mention, VCOM is a voltage output terminal which voltage is internally generated from VCCAD. It can be left floating, however as VCCAD would be tied to ground, disabling the ADC section of the part, I think that connecting VCOM directly to AGND might not cause any problem.
