How many the slave devices is it possible to connect to one master device if using TPA3116D2 with the master and slave synchronization ?

Hello Kato! How many, or what configuration are you trying to enable? Shawn can get back to you in answering your questions about the configuration. Also, have you seen our next generation 30-W, Stereo Class-D Amplifier with Low-Idle Power Dissipation (Analog-In) for Battery Operated Systems, the TPA3128D2? It is P2P to the earlier devices and has all the same features, but with Ultra low idle losses. thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff-san,

Thank you for your quick response.

Unfortunately, the output power isn't enough for TPA3128D2 in our customer application.
Our customer is considering to use TPA3116D2 more than 10 pcs as the slave device for one master device.
So, I am looking forward to getting the information from Shawn-san.

Hi Kato-san,
I confirmed with designer, one TPA3116D2 in master mode has the sufficient driving ability to drive 10 pcs TPA3116D2 in slave mode. But please take care of the clock routing in the system design. e.g. good matching in the clock traces, low parasitic capacitance...

Our customer is considering to use 20 slave devices however the details of the application are not disclosed.

Hi Kato-san,
I think 20 slave devices are too many for the driving ability. Maybe you can add one buffer after the SYNC output in master device to enhance the driving ability.
