PCM1865: Auto Gain Mapping Function

Part Number: PCM1865

Hi,

Could you please tell me the internal behavior for the analog PGA and the digital PGA settings if change the PGA value(analog and digital gain) when enabling the auto gain mapping function ?
For example, how does PCM1865 control their registers if changing the PGA value from 0dB to 32dB ?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hi, Kato-san,

Automatic Gain Mapping function is the name given to the PCM1865 way to control automatically the hybrid PGA architecture. This device has a lookup table where the optimal gain balance between analog and digital gain is specified, so when modifying the PGA register for each channel, the device uses this table to setup the analog and digital PGA gain with the best combination per each general PGA gain level. This allows the gain to be set in a single register per channel. For detailed information, please refer to Programmable Gain Amplifier section of the datasheet.

  • Hi Diego-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

Could you please share a lookup table with the optimal gain balance between analog and digital gain with me if possible ?

    Best regards,
    Kato

  • Hi, Kato-san,

Unfotunately we can't disclose this information as it is design related.
