TLV320DAC3100: Low frequency noise output when using the ACEV-1B evaluation board.

Part Number: TLV320DAC3100

Hello, I am trying to evaluate the power consumption of the 320DAC3100 the ACEV-1B evaluation board. I am using the SPVDD wire loop to measure the current. There seems to be a constant 16 mA that is drawn from the SPVDD line, and a low frequency hiss is emanating from the speaker. This is present even if I'm not giving any input to the speaker through my computer. Is power draw inherent in the DAC, or is it a result of noise from the analog input lines, for example. How can I minimize this noise? Thanks.

  • Hi Suhaib,

    Welcome to e2e.
I will work on the issue you're describing and I'll come back to you with more detail soon.

  • Suhaib,

Is there a chance you could share some captures of the noise you're getting?
Is this low frequency hiss still present if you short the wire loop (remove the current measurement tool)?
