PCM2912A: Noise issue

Part Number: PCM2912A

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We have use PCM2912A.

Issue as below

TA is 70 ºC, there is annoying noise, USB audio codec temp. = 88ºC

TA is 65 ºC, NO annoying noise, USB audio codec temp. = 82ºC

Is it normal? have any possible to fix this noise?

By the way,  we found Pin24 pull high& pull low will have different Power consumption.

So if we setting from high to low (500mA to 100mA), the temp is possible to drop?

Have any risk on this change?

Thanks!!

  • Hi, Shu-Cheng,

Can you please describe more information about the noise heard?. This device maximum ambient operating temperature recommended for this device is 70°C, so perhaps the noise is related to the device being operated at this temperature. The temperature of the device itself might get lower if the maximum current consumption is limited by setting the pin 24 to LOW. There should be no risk in doing this as long as the total power of your application does not require over 100 mA.
