TLV320AIC3263: Difference between DIN and DOUT pins of the I2S Lines

Dear All,

We are new to Audio Processing and working with TLV320AIC3263 codec , While designing the schematics I came across these 4 pins for a I2S block

1. BCLK
2. WCLK
3. DIN
4. DOUT

I want to know why are there 2 seperate pins for Data ? According to I2S specifications only 1 pin is enough right ?

Kindly help explain these exclusive pins

    Hi, Shashank,

    The DIN and DOUT pins refer to the data pins. However, the difference between these two pins is the data direction. DOUT pin is an output pin which sends the ADC data. This pin is used for recording purposes. By other hand, DIN pin is an input pin which receives the DAC data. It is used for playback purposes.
