PCM1789 Obsolence

We would like to use the PCM1789 for a new design, and the fact that the EVM is discontinued seems sospicious when thinking about obsolescence. We would need to ensure a 10-year product continuation, is there any relationship between the eval board being discontinued and the obsolescence of this product? Is the PCM1789 recommended for new designs?

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

The Evaluation board for the PCM1789 was discontinued because the board design was very old and there was no update for it. There are no plans to obsolete the PCM1789, so you should be able to use it without any problem.

Probably it would be better if you contact your local TI sales office to get detailed information about that, we only know the device will not be obsoleted any time soon.
