Linux/TAS5751M: how to config the tas5751m

Part Number: TAS5751M

Tool/software: Linux

In my platform, cpu connect to tas5751m with i2s (4lines) port.

My platform audio config as follow:

1.MCLK=12.288M,Bclk=3.072M,LRclk=48k

2.word size is 16bit Left-Justified

Q1.when play music, we got waveform on i2s data pins,but can't hear in speaker.which register need modify?

Attach file is the tas5751m register dump of my platform.

Q2:when play music,the current of the platform raise from 400mA to 3A, and keep high during music playing.

Is the power of amplifiter config too high? Which register should be configed to draw down the current.

Thanks.

  • Hello! Shawn will look into more detail on your question. Also, what PVDD are you applying and what is the load of the speaker you are trying to drive? Also, for your question # 2, are you hearing the music without a problem Thanks, Jeff
  • Hi yuhan ,
    I reviewed your register configuration, and didn't find obvious issue. There is no FAULT flaged in Error Status Register. So I think the I2S input should be OK. The power supply current go higher with playing music, this also indicates the amplifier is working. What if adjust the volumn to higher or lower? The power supply current also goes with it?
    How much is PVDD and load resistance? 3A is only for audio amplifier? Could you please check your speakers? You are using AD mode according to your register configutation, please also try BD mode. Please also check the waveform on AMP_OUT pins and speaker(+/-) to see if the output is expected.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
