TLV320AIC3120: TLV320AIC3120 AGC

Part Number: TLV320AIC3120

Dear Sir,

We want to check if there is any parameter we can setup for not increasing the signal too fast.

Is the AGC of mini-DPS different from normal AGC? I saw there are some coefficients I didn’t see them in AGC registers.

I am interested in below two factors. Does normal AGC have the same parameter?

Below factors are listed in “the help of AGC(purepath)”.

Thanks, Ian.

  • Hi Ian,
As far as parameters to control AGC is concerned, Attack time determines how quickly the AGC circuitry reduces the PGA gain when the input signal is too loud. Programming the attack time is done by writing to page 0 / register 89, bits D7–D0.

Similarly, Decay time determines how quickly the PGA gain is increased when the input signal is too low. Programming the decay time is done by writing to page 0 / register 90, bits D7–D0.

NOTE that this mechanism ONLY applied to the normal AGC and should very well achieve the results you are looking for...

As far as the table from mini-DSP AGC control goes, we will have to look into this furthur as there is not much documentation that is available at the moment. But the earlier mentioned approach should allow you to control the output signal from increasing too fast. Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ravi
