TPA3118D2: can i feed my phone output audio signal to input of TPA3118D2?

I have a phone that output of it is 1.5-volt peak to peak can I feed it to an input of tpa3118D2?

if i want connect output of vs1003B directly to input of TPA3118D2 will it work fine or i need preamp?

Hi Navidrct,
Could you please let me know more info about your application? How much is the power supply PVCC? Speaker resistance? The rated output power on the speaker? I need this info for the analysis of you application.
I don't think you need a pre-amp generally, which probably increases the risk of degradation on the audio performance.

it's a mp3 player that has tpa3116D2 as its amplifier
its power supply can be either 24 or 12V
speaker can be 6ohm and 8ohm in 24V and 4 ohm in 12V and speaker power should be higher than 50Wat user choice

Hi Navidrct,
Thanks for the info. I think you have to use 24V power supply for the high output power application(e.g. 50W). Usually we also use a lower resistance speaker to achieve a high output power. I think you can try 4Ohm speaker.
Let's take 50W/4Ohm/24V as an example. The output peak amplitude is Vo_p=20V. If use 20dB Gain, the input peak value Vi_p should be 2V. And if you use 26dB gain, the input peak value Vi_p should be 1V.
Please pay attention to the thermal performance in PCB layout design for these high output power applications. I think you could refer to our EVM design for this.
