TAS5782MEVM: Analog Input

Hello,

I am attempting to use a TAS5782MEVM with a PPCMB (rev F), and have been unsuccessful using the analog input. I can successfully achieve an amplified output by using the USB input or the digital I2S input, however not when using the analog input.

When first configuring the device within the PurePath Console 3, I select the TAS5782 app, select the Stereo 2.0 speaker configuration, select USB In, then select Standard Processing (2.0 48k). The console configures the PPCMB and the TAS5782MEVM, and when an input is applied, an amplifier output is obtained. However, when these same steps are taken, but with an analog input, there is no output.

Are there any extra steps that need to be taken to use the analog input on the PPCMB?

Hello Hanna! Andy can help with any further question, but... it should run correctly out of the box, assuming everything is hooked up per the manual, you can run a system check as outlined in section 3.3 System Checks, to see if there are any issues. Also, when the audio path is selected in section 3.5 Audio I/O, please make sure that the signal path remains highlighted "blue" from the analog input to the amp. Lastly, please check the register setting per section 3.6 Register Map, just in case somehow the system was muted or put in standby. If these things do not work out, Andy can follow up with you. I have checked all of the items you suggested, and have even tried using the analog input on a second PPCMB with the same result.

Hi Hanna,

I did a quick test. The Analog In option int he Audio I/O page works with my PPCMB (Rev G). Your Rev F board is almost identical to the Rev G board, so you also see the the Analog Input works too.

Here is something you should be pay attention to. Only feed your analog input to the AIN1 3.5mm audio jack.
