TPA6211A1: TPA6211A1

Part Number: TPA6211A1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2038D1, TPA2011D1

Hi TI,

I am using the TPA6211A1 amplifier with Single-ended inputs and I connect  a 4ohm/3W speaker to the output of the TPA6211A1.

When I play any sound files through the amp the output is not very loud compared with the 4ohm/2W speaker especially in the bass.

And background noise became even worse.

Is there some problem with my design?

  • Hello,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products.
The schematic seems to be right. But The device needs a load of 3 ohms and a differential input to achieve 3W according to with the datasheet.
I have some questions for you. Could you provide more details about your application? Are you using an output filter? Could you send me some graphs when the problem is happening?

  • Hello Jose Luis,

    Thank you for answer.

    My design looks like below:

Besides,I have a question that how can I select the right speaker with TPA6211A1 (include power, impedance  etc.).

And is there anyother type of audio amplifiers that can fit the 3W/4ohm speaker ?

    Best Regards

  • Hi,

You could disconnect the output filter of the TPA6211a1 in order to check that the device is working properly and discard a problem on the output filter.
You can have a look at the following devices: TPA2011D1 and TPA2038D1. They are Class D audio amplifiers and provide better efficiency than TPA6211a1.

Please let me know your thoughts.
