Linux/TAS5707: tas5707 has no audio data ouput

Part Number: TAS5707

Tool/software: Linux

 TAS5707 has no PWM output.

And current measure results of our board are below:
1. I2C comunication is OK;
2. Falut pin is always high;

3.source file: wav 24bit 48KHz;

4. MCLK=BCLK: 3.06MHz, LRCLK 48KHz;

5. AVDD 3.28V,PVDD 12.2V;

Is there any further test points to confirm to resolve this issue?

  • Hello TK! I am assuming that you are also using the MC57xxPSIA input board, and that it is all connected just like the layout on page 4 of the users guide? Also, please make sure you follow each step of the setup in 2.2 Software Installation, and in particualr that the device Enable/Disable auto bank switch function is properly selected on the GUI. Also, section 3.1 Connect the GUI to the EVM steps should also be follow. This section also highlights a re-set capability if needed. Also please view the Check All channel shutdown button as it must be un-checked. If this does not work Shawn will help you further. Thanks, Jeff
  • Jeff, thanks for your reply. I explain about hardware. We checked all these items on our own designed board using R16 (China vendor AllWinner's arm processor) for soundbox product. tas5707 is connected with R16 via I2S, and MCLK is supplied by R16. so pls give your suggestion based on this situation. Thanks a lot!
  • Hi TK,

    Did you check the I2S input signal(including MCLK, SCLK, LRCLK and DIN) on the input of audio amplitude with scope? Do they look normal? Could you please chekc the waveform on the output pins on TPA5707? The PWM is swtiching or not? I think you could play a tone signal at first to debug this issue.

    Please check the Error Status Register 0x02 to see if there is any error in it. How much is the volume setting in register 0x07/0x8/0x09?

    Please show me your SCH, we need to make sure there is no hardwre issue. And please also show us your register configuration file.

    Best regards,

    Shawn Zheng

  • Shawn,
    file to test: sin wav file with 48KHz/2Ch/S16_LE;
    I2S related: MCLK=SCLK=2.82MHz, LRCLK=48KHz; DIN has signal but looks abnormal;
    Registers value: 0x02=0x0; 0x07=0x42, 0x08=0x30, 0x09=0x30;

    About SCH, can you give me your email? I will send SCH and signal pictures to you.
    Thanks.

    TK
  • Hi TK,

    Please feel free to send me email shawn-zheng@ti.com. We could communicate on this off-line.

    If you could send me the your register configuration file and SCH, that would be very helpful.

    Best regards,

    Shawn Zheng

  • Thanks Shawn!

    Hello TK! Because you are now working this on email would you be able to close this thread? Thanks,Jeff
  • Shawn,
    OK, I will send it to your email.
