TAS5782M: Data size that needs to downloaded

My customer has started to develop with TAS5766, but TAS5782M is a better fit.

It looks like the TAS5782M is almost P2P compatible with the TAS5766M so it should be easy to update schematic. However I can't find any information on data size that need to be downloaded. Is it the same as in TAS5766M (4339 Bytes)?

And is their any concerns replacing the TAS5766M with TAS5782M?

Hello Jorgen! The TAS5766 is a 50 mips device, versus the TAS5782 which has 100 mips capability.... and there is a not-quite proportional increase in byte headroom as well, though the specific number escapes me and so I will close back with a colleague on the relative difference and then get back to you.

Hi Jorgen,

TAS5782M can support quite a few different process flows. The data size will be different, depending on which process flow is used. Basically, the data size of a SmartAmp based process flow is large than that of a non-SmartAmp based process flow.

Which process flow is your customer interested in, 96k SmartAmp or 48k SmartAmp?

Hi Andy,

They will use 48kHz smartamp or 48kHz process flow #3, if smartamp data size is too big.

The data size of Process Flow 4 (48kHz SmartAmp) will be large than that of Process Flow 3 (48kHz Non-SmartAmp). Let me do some tests and give you more precise data size.

Hi Jorgen,

Let's assume the i2c burst write length is set to 1. The data size of Process Flow 4 (48kHz SmartAmp) is about 6700 bytes and the data size of Process Flow 3 (48kHz Non-SmartAmp) is about 3000 bytes.
