PCM3070: the difference between PCM3070 and TLV320AIC3254

Hi,

Recently I find out that PCM3070 is almost the same as TLV320AIC3254, what i find the difference is that AIC3254 has MicBias function. is there have any other difference? I am also curious about these 2 parts, they RTM at the same month, revised at the same year. are they for different application?

Hi, Wiky,

The TLV320AIC3254 and PCM3070 are similar devices that share similar features, but are targeted for different applications. The 'AIC3254 is intended to be used in portable applications, while the PCM3070 is more suited to be used in line powered applications.

Hi Diego,

Thanks for your reply. I learn AIC3254 before but have less mindset about PCM3070. what do mean by line powered applications? i am not familiar with this EE.

Hi, Wiky,

In general, line powered applications are those which have a direct connection to an AC line and are not dependent on low power consumption for battery saving purposes. Systems like home theaters, blue ray players, soundbars, monitors, TVs etc can be considered line applications.
