Good Day,
Just want to ask how much the TPA3521D2 Amplifier Supply Current Rating requires to normally operate for the voltage levels below:
12 Volts DC
36 Volts DC
3.3 Volts DC
Thanks and Good Day,

Hi Leo,
It depends on the application and configuration you have the device in.
The TPA3251 datasheet on page 7 shows the current consumed by the device for 36VDC and 12VDC when in reset and 50% duty cycle. The current consumption for 12VDC for 50% duty cycle shows I_VDD=40mA and then for each full-bridge I_GVDD=25mA. This isn't likely to increase greatly with different duty cycles, however the current from 36VDC (PVDD) will be drastically different depending on the input signal but at 50% duty cycle the datasheet says 12.5mA.
Finally for the 3.3VDC you can actually use the DVDD pin on the TPA3251.
Hope this helps and good day,
Robert
Hi Sir Robert,
So if I configure my power supply like these for a configuration of 175W Stereo BTL 10% THD+N:
Is this possible?
+12 Volts DC @ 500mA
+3.3 Volts DC @ 200mA
+36 Volts DC @ 18A
Thanks and Good Day,
Leo
Hi Leo,
Yes those current limits on all power supplies would be plenty.
Glad I could help you.
Best Regards and Good Day,
Robert
Hi Sir Robert,
Thanks. I plan to build this amplifier with an MSP432 controlling an Audio DSP with Graphical LCD display.
Best Regards,
Leo
