PCM2900CEVM-U: PCM2900CEVM Layout File Request

Part Number: PCM2900CEVM-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2900C, PCM2900, TPS61170

Hi Team,

Could you help provide PCM2900CEVM-U layout file? thanks.

  • Hi, Kuo,

We have only the Gerber files available for the PCM2900CEVM-U, please refer to attached.

  • Hi Diego ,

May I know PCM2900C suitable for XLR microphone?

Current we use TPS61170 design for Phantom  48V with PCM2900, but for mic phone has no reponse.

Verifiaction use line out contect to line in has reponse. May I know whatproblem in the schematic ? Gain R30 / R35 / R36 / R41or pull high R32 / R38?

  • Hi, Kuo,

The PCM2900C is meant to operate with line-level single-ended inputs, as long as the input is compliant with the datasheet specs, there should be no issue with the part. Have you verified that the signal in the microphone circuit before the line outputs is correct and within the codec specs?.

  • Hi Sir,

Currently we modify EC1/EC2 capacitor type from electronic change to MLCC phantom microphone. We listen line out has responds but volume is too small.

May I know we can try increase amplifier gain via R30/R36? how do I concern gain control? Thanks.

  • Hi, Kuo,

You can try increasing the gain of the pre-amplifier circuit, however, you need to make sure the output of the signal is compliant with the input specs of the PCM2900C. To get a full-scale digital output from the codec, you need a 1.98Vpp input signal, centered at 1.65V.
