PCM2706C: pop noise issue

Guru 29710 points
Part Number: PCM2706C

Hi Team,

My customer encountered pop noise issue with PCM2706C so I would like to ask the following questions.

1)
I believe R7 and R8 are implemented for pop noise issue and it is improved if reducing these values.
Is my understanding correct?

2)
I believe connecting "SUSPEND" signal to enable pin of speaker amp is recommended.
Is my understanding correct?

3)
I would like TI to check my customer's schematic to improve on offline.
Is it possible to send me e-mail to the following address?

  • Dear Yaita-san,

My colleague will be able to answer your question, and he will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi, Yaita-san,

    Please refer to below comments:

1- Correct, those resistors are used help reducing pop/click noise level at suspend on and power off. Smaller resistor reduces the pop noise, but it changes cut-off frequency. for detailed information about this circuit, please refer to section 8 of the app note found in this wiki

2- Correct, suspend signal can be connected to the output amplifier to enable it during normal operation mode and disable it whenever the device enters in suspend state.
