TLV320AIC3254: LOL/LOR doesn't have output

Part Number: TLV320AIC3254

Hi team,

we use AIC3254 to finish line out function. After power on, we give an input at IN1_L and IN1_R and check the output of I2S is ok, but the LOL/LOR doesn't have any signal, we suspect some block is disable. could you help to point out the related register that helps to my design? thanks!

  • Hi Wiky,
My colleague will help you with your question, he will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi, Wiky,

Can you please double check what would be the source for LOL and LOR signals?. In general, the line outputs are connected to the DAC output which input source is the I²S input (DIN). Can you please check if digital audio is streamed to the 'AIC3254 through DIN?. For an easy evaluation, I would recommend you to take a look to the TLV320AIC3254 CS software that is available in the product folder of the EVM, there you can find some record and playback configuration examples.

  • Hi Diego,

thanks for your reply. we try to use the analog input as the stream. so you mean 3254 can only support I2S input as the stream, right?

    thanks.

  • Hi Diego,

could you tell us the the key register that should be programmed? the code in GDE looks a lot.
BTW, does our schematic looks fine?

    thanks.

  • Hi, Wiky,

Thanks for the feedback. The line output source can be selected from different sources, DAC output is only one of them and in general is the default option. Selecting the line inputs as the output source is possible with the analog bypass function by using the Mixer amplifiers (MAL and MAR), as depicted below.

These auxiliary bypass amplifiers can be used as the source for LOL and LOR, respectively. In order to make this, you need to power these amplifiers by configuring register 9 of page 1, then, unmute them by setting registers 24 and 25 of page 1. The source selection for LOL and LOR is made with registers 14 and 15 of page 1.

Regarding the schematic, in general seems correct, however, i noticed that LOR and LOL are tied together after the 22 Ohm resistor, is there any special reason to make this?.

  • Hi Diego,

Thanks your comments in detail, we find it works after configuration. Thanks.

LOL&LOR are tied for subwoofer requirement.
