Quick Start Guide states J21 OUT

User's Guide states J21 IN

What is correct for 2 channel stereo

I can hear no difference, both sound fabulous

Thanks for contacting TI.

J21 is simply changing the capacitance on the CSTART pin which changes the startup and shut down timing of the output PWM signals. You will not hear any difference when audio is playing. For BTL (stereo x2) and PBTL ( Mono x1) mode we recommend this jumper is OUT. It is only needed as IN for SE mode (x4).

Please point me to the conflicting instructions, which page and paragraph.

The Quick start is for BTL so J21 should be OUT.

Table 6 and 3 should be OUT as they have no SE channels. Table 5 and 7 have SE channels so J21 should be IN.

Any config with BTL or PBTL (and no SE channels) is OUT, any config containing at lease one SE channel is IN.
