I am looking at the following product families of USB to S/PDIF audio bridges - http://www.ti.com/audio-ic/converters/usb/products.html#
The product specifications state that the parts can handle two uncompressed PCM streams which means it should be able to handle 5.1 channels compressed. My question is whether any of the USB to S/PDIF audio converters will not accept audio that is formatted in AC-3 (Dolby Digital lossy compression). The USB to S/PDIF bridge does NOT have to do any encoding or decoding of the audio, I only need the AC-3 audio to be passed from USB to S/PDIF. Please advise
Thanks
