TPA2011D1: Asking for the TPA2011 noise floor performance

Part Number: TPA2011D1

Hi Team,
Customer is designing the TPA2011 on the new project.

But I measure Noise Floor just only -83dBV ( spec show Noise output voltage is 20uVrms when A-weighting )
Could you please help to clarify this criteria is reasonable ? Did we still can improve to -94dBV??
Input maximum voltage is 1Vrms form CODEC . Speaker amp gain is 3.14 (2X150K/95.3K) .

The customer's noise floow spec is -94dB.
however, customer measure the TPA2011 output noise floow is only -83dB.
TPA2011 spec show Noise output voltage is 20uVrms when A-weighting.
conditions:
1. TPA2011 Input maximum voltage is 1Vrms form CODEC .
2. Speaker amp gain is 3.14 (2X150K/95.3K) .

Please help for the following two questions:

Q:

1. Do you think customer's PCB spec can support to -94dB?

2. What is the TPA2011 max noise floor performance in dB?

Here are customer's spec, TPA2011 spec and TPA2011 schematic.

Thanks,
SHH

  • Hi SHH,

    1) They could get a value approximate to 20uVrms if they follow the given guidelines in the amplifier's datasheet to build the layout PCB.
    2) According to the datasheet would be a value about 20uVrms (-91.7dB).

  • Hi Jose,

Could you let us know What the TPA2011 noise floor performance under Vcc=5V and gain=3.14 is? (datasheet conditions: VCC=3.6V, gain is 2V/V) Will noise floor be worse or be better under customer's conditions?

customer's spec unit is dBV. I think 20uVrms is -93.98dBV, right?

    Thanks,
    SHH
  • SHH,

You are right about 20uVrms is -93.98dBV.
I have performed the test under the required conditions. Below you can find the results.
The signal obtained with A-Weighting is -87 dBV.

The signal obtained without A-weighting is -85 dBV.
