TPA6139A2: Question of TPA6139 datasheet

Dear Sir

I promote TPA6139 to customer, I have some question to ask:

1. In Datasheet, there is a parameter of RL(load resistance), it is from 16ohm to 10kohm in the datasheet, I want to know whether this resistance means the load resistance from OUTL to GND(or OUTR to GND)? iCan it support 8ohm headphone?

2. in the datasheet, the output current limit is 60mA, I want to know the current limite is 60mA per channel or 30mA/channel(total 60mA for 2 channel)?

3. in the datasheet, when 32ohm load, the Vo is 0.9Vrms, if the load is 16ohm headphone, how about the Vo? Can I use the formula: 16ohm*60mA*0.707 to calculate the Vo RMS voltage?

    Hi Zhimin,

    I will address your questions below:
    1. RL is the load resistance. It goes from OUTx to GND. 8-Ohm headphone would be out of spec, I would recommend you to perform some test to evaluate the device performance with this load as the device performance is not guaranteed for operation outside spec from data sheet.
    2. The current limit is per channel.
    3. I performed a quick test with 16 ohm loads and obtained Vo = 785mVrms for THD+N = 1%
