TLV320DAC3101: Tolerant function for digital input pins

Part Number: TLV320DAC3101

Hi,

Let me confirm about tolerant function for followng pins.

Could you please confirm whether there is tolerant function in these pins ?

* SDA

* SCL

* MCLK

* WCLK

* DIN

* BCLK

* GPIO1

* RESET

Best Regards,

  • Hi Machida-san,

    Could you please explain further what you mean by "tolerant function" so we can verify?

  • Hi Ivan-san,

    I mean following condition.

    * When power is not supplied to DAC3101, how many voltage can the above 8 pins take as an unbreakable(or no effect on reliablity) voltage ?
       Below is in case of I2C. (If "tolerant" of pin depends on power supply of DAC3101, this case is not allowable. But not depend on power supply of DAC3101, how many voltage can be applied ?)

    Best Regards,

  • Machida-san,

    I would not recommend to do this. Setting a voltage potential on the digital pins while the device is not powered could cause leakage current to IOVDD. If you need to do this I would recommend to better keep the device powered and disable the digital pins or set /RESET pin low, this will set these pins to Hi-Z and external potential wont affect the device and also the device wont affect the signals on these pins.
