TLV320AIC3104EVM-K: Issue following power failure

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104EVM-K

I have been testing the 3104EVM-K successfully until recently, when I received a USB error condition on startup.

I have tried multiple PCs and I am no longer able to activate the EVM module, although the software does recognize the board on all PCs. The Modem driver is recognized but when I try to run any command the modem active light goes out.

How should I proceed?

  • Hi Dennis,

That is rather odd. Was there any other event that coincided with start of this? When you start the GUI, do you immediately get the error? or is it only after you try to run a command?

    best regards,
    -Steve Wilson
  • This only happens as I run a command, otherwise the active led is on and all seems normal.
The was a power outage while the board was running and there was no UPS backup several weeks ago. After power was restored I received a message that the USB device required more power. After reinstalling the driver I tested only the USB connection, which appeared normal. Also, now I have noticed that the board gets hot at the power link to the USB modem.
  • Steve, the outputs of the codec are connected to mains that have their own separate power source. I have tested the amps and they were not affected. And to be clear the software appears normal; on any command the active LED goes out and there is no output, but everything appears normal from a software point of view.
  • Dennis, It sounds like your EVM may have been damaged. I sent you a connection request, let's talk about what we can do for you.

    best regards,
